Choosing Your Tree
Variables that dramatically influence the needs of different customers include: the pollination requirements of the different trees, climate, the various forms of espalier and how they suit the specific varieties, and, of course, personal taste. We like to spend time with all our customers, determining what their individual needs are, so we can ensure that each person purchases the ideal espalier for his or her garden. Shaping and Maintenance
Our espaliers are grown in 15-gallon containers and in 24" boxes, and are trained along permanent fences. They are trained for one to three years, in several different forms. Most, however, are trained in the "Tiered" form (also known as the "Horizontal Cordon"), which is versatile and easy to re-train into other designs, such as the "Palmette Verrier" or the "Candelabra." (For more information on the various forms of espalier, please refer to our Popular Designs page.) Our espaliers do not come with a trellis; we take them off our permanent fences for you to bring home and attach to your own structure, tailored to your specific situation.

Shipping
Our espaliers can be shipped via truck to any of the 48 contiguous states. Please be aware that this can be very expensive, depending upon your location and the number of trees being shipped. Approximately four trees fit into one box, and as the cost of shipping is determined by the size of the box rather than its weight, four trees do not cost much more to ship than does one. Shipping costs are ultimately determined by the cost of the box, the trucking company's fees, and our handling fee for the barerooting and packaging of the trees. We can only ship trees during the bareroot season, which is from December to March in Northern California. If you live within a few hours of Sonoma County, we can deliver our trees to you at any time of the year. Delivery charges are $35.00 per hour, including round-trip driving time.

Discounts
We offer a discount for landscapers and contractors with proper identification; 15% for one to four trees, and 20% for five or more. We require payment in full at the time of order, or a 25% non-refundable deposit. We also offer wholesale prices to nurseries for resale. Download our nursery wholesale price list here.
